General Anaesthesia & Deep Sedation
Whether the clinic documents treatment under general anaesthesia or deep / twilight sedation — "sleep dentistry", where the patient is asleep and unaware (does not feel, see, or hear the procedure). Ordinary conscious sedation, where the patient stays awake and responsive, does not count here. This is informational and does not affect the transparency score.
- ✓ General anaesthesia / deep sedation (sleep dentistry) — General anaesthesia / deep sedation documented IV sedation with anesthesiologist available; site also references general anesthetic for implant post-op care. [rio-grande-dental-sedation]

Score Breakdown
Every criterion below is scored from public sources. ✓ verified yes · ✗ verified no / not found · ◐ partial · ? unverified (scores 0, not a negative finding).
Information Transparency
17 / 20
Whether basic facts about the clinic - its team, premises, services, and location - are publicly verifiable.

15 / 15
Whether patients can estimate costs before visiting. Published price ranges count; exact prices are not required.

Reputation & Reviews
7 / 20
Public review signals. The Google rating is adjusted with a Bayesian prior (rating 4.0, weight 25) so a 5.0 from a handful of reviews does not outrank a 4.8 from hundreds.
| ◐ | Google rating (Bayesian-adjusted) as of 2026-08-25 [rio-grande-dental-refresh] | 3/6 |
| ✗ | Google review volume [rio-grande-dental-refresh] | 0/3 |
| ✓ | Review recency [rio-grande-dental-refresh] | 3/3 |

Change History
| Date | Change |
|---|---|
| 2026-10-02 | Read the clinic's own website (homepage, robots.txt, sitemap and service pages) for site structure: no business structured data. |
| 2026-10-01 | Presence on other review platforms re-checked: no profile on WhatClinic, Dental Departures or Doctoralia, so this criterion is now no. |
| 2026-09-29 | Corrected 2026-09-29: clinic responds to reviews now unverified: with 3 Google reviews a missing owner reply shows nothing yet. |
| 2026-09-25 | Search visibility checked on 2026-09-25 for the five pending Puerto Vallarta queries: present for "best dentist Puerto Vallarta", "English speaking dentist Puerto Vallarta", "dental implants Puerto Vallarta", "Puerto Vallarta dental clinic for expats"; not present for "emergency dentist Puerto Vallarta". |
| 2026-09-25 | Re-read on 2026-09-25: every page in the clinic's sitemap (prices, FAQ, implant, service and contact pages in English and Spanish) and its Google listing. Recorded: cleaning, filling and consultation/evaluation prices on the prices page (a free consultation is also advertised), alongside the implant and crown prices already on file and a priced cone-beam CT scan; CBCT documented; no emergency care or WhatsApp link found; Saturday hours; the three Google reviews carry no owner replies. Not listed on TripAdvisor. Suspicious-review signals were not assessed on a base of three reviews. |
| 2026-08-25 | License verification 2026-08-25 against CLUES (clinic-scope registry): host unreachable (TLS certificate expired / master workbook host times out) — could not verify Rio Grande Dental's clinic authorization; left null, not marked false. No doctor names are listed for this clinic, so no dentist-registry lookups were possible. |
| 2026-08-25 | Recorded sedation / general anaesthesia availability (informational): documented as available. IV sedation with anesthesiologist available; site also references general anesthetic for implant post-op care. |
| 2026-08-25 | Re-verification 2026-08-25: confirmed website, address, phone; captured first Google rating 5.0 (3 reviews, small/newer Maps listing for the Puerto Vallarta location); site FAQ confirms IV sedation with an anesthesiologist is available; added geo coordinates and Maps URL. |
